"BERTANDANG" - THE WEDDING CEREMONY AT GROOM'S HOUSE
“Bertandang� is performed at the groom’s house whereas “Bersanding� takes place at the bride’s house. Usually “bertandang� ceremony is held after one week after the wedding.
During these symbolic event the groom will go to the bride’s home for “Bersanding�. He is supposed to stay there with her newly wed wife to perform his conjugal rights.
After the third day both the bride and the groom will proceed to the groom’s house known as “Bertandang�hosted by the family of the groom. Invited guests will also be present. This represent confirmation of the union.
During “Bertandang� the newly weds will pay their respects to the family of the groom. The family of the bride will also be joining.
Both the bride and groom will sit at the “pelamin� or dais in front of family and relatives. Family, friends and relatives of both will take the chance to take photograph with them.
